Seeing a need for a comprehensive book of disability resources and information for her son, our founder established Mikey's Place to provide other families with up-to-date, relevant information by creating Mikey's Guide.  Though Mikey's Guide  remains at the heart of what we do to achieve our mission, we have added additional programs since our inception in 2006.  We've consistently grown since then, assisting thousands of families, all thanks to the generosity of Houstonians! 

Mikey's Place is committed to helping families who are raising children with disabilities. Our mission is achieved threefold:     We inform families with our biennial publication Mikey's Guide - a comprehensive resource book of disability-related services and programs.  Second, we connect  families to the services and programs they seek by hosting an Annual Special Needs Summer Camp & Resource Fair and by maintaining an active Facebook page.  Finally, we support families by offering "camperships" to assist with the cost of specialized summer camps or other enriching summer activities.
